About any cloth item can be made into a memory quilt - shirts from favorite vacations, sport teams, fraternity or sororities, baby blankets, onesies, kids clothing, men's dress shirts, grandma's favorite dress and more. Don't just shove them away in a closet or the basement in a plastic bag where no one can see them and appreciate them in a new form. I can help re-purpose them into a useful and precious quilt that can be giving for lots of different occasions like graduation, new baby, wedding gifts, anniversary gift, Christmas, birthday and more.

How many shirts do you need?
The quilt blocks are approximately 13 inches unfinished and 12 inches finished. So the following number of shirt faces (shirt front or back) can make the following sized quilts:
12 shirts - 3x4 squares - 36" x 48"
15 shirts - 3x5 squares - 36" x 60"
16 shirts - 4x4 squares - 48" x 48"
18 shirts - 3x6 squares - 36" x 72"
20 shirts - 4x5 squares - 48" x 60"
21 shirts - 3x7 squares - 36" x 84"
24 shirts - 4x6 squares - 48" x 72" OR  3x8 squares - 36"x96"
25 shirts - 5x5 squares - 60" x 60"
28 shirts - 4x7 squares - 48" x 84" (twin bed comforter)
30 shirts - 5x6 squares - 60" x 72"
32 shirts - 4x8 squares - 48" x 96"
35 shirts - 5x7 squares - 60" x 84"
36 shirts - 6x6 squares - 72" x 72" (full bed cover)
40 shirts - 5x8 squares - 60" x 96"

Quilt Pricing:
A raggy style quilt is $7/square whether shirt backs or fleece is used to line the back of the quilt. This includes the cutting up of the shirts, quilt layout, quilting, trimming, washing and drying of your quilt.  The pricing does not include the cost of shipping your shirts to me or back to you as each quilt has a different weight.  When mailing your quilt back to you, I do add extra insurance when mailing quilts back which I do cover for you, but these items are priceless so once they are in-transit to you I am no longer responsible for item unfortunately.

Quilt Backing Options:
1) Use shirts for front and back of quilt - both sides of a shirt can be used to create a square and using soft flannel in between the squares to gives it a nice comforting weight and softness. This is especially great when you are using shirts that have a fun front and a name and/or number on the back.

2) Shirt "fronts" can be backed with a solid anti-pill fleece material on the back which makes the quilt extra nice to cozy up with.

How is the quilt made?
Shirt squares are quilted by stitching a large "X" point to point on the squares.  The shirts are sewn together with the edges facing upwards which are then clipped and frayed to create the "raggy" 3-D effect. The flannel or fleece used in the squares will show through to give a fun accent that brings the whole quilt together nicely.

What to Expect:
I treat these shirts as if they were my own special memories and work with you throughout the process to make sure you will be 110% satisfied with your final quilt. My shop is in my smoke-free and pet free home and before I send back your quilt it will be machined washed with an unscented and dye free detergent. You can expect to have your quilt finished typically 3-6 weeks after I receive your shirts but around holidays or graduation time it could be longer so please plan ahead.

Please note:
1) Buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping the shirts to me - once order is made I will send you my address to ship the shirts to.
2) Shirts should be washed and dried prior to shipment - plus if you want both sides of a shirt used, you will need to make note of that
3) For those with more than 40 shirt faces please contact me to discuss options of using "faces" on front and back of the quilt
